Section 66E of the Information Technology Act, 2000, clearly states that capturing, publishing, or transmitting the image of a private area of any person without their consent (including videos of sexual acts) is a criminal offence punishable with up to three years of imprisonment and a fine. Similarly, Section 67 of the IT Act explicitly prohibits publishing or transmitting "obscene" material in electronic form.

The CD at the centre of the case played a crucial role in exposing the conspiracy, but it is not a piece of entertainment. It is not something to be hunted down, downloaded, shared, or watched out of curiosity.
