Why the Hell Are You Here, Teacher!? (known in Japan as ) is based on a manga by Soborou that was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine . The anime adaptation, produced by Tear Studio and directed by Toshikatsu Tokoro, premiered in Japan in April 2019. The core premise is deliciously simple: an average, unlucky high school student constantly finds himself in extremely awkward, intimate, and embarrassing situations with his very attractive, no-nonsense teachers. The title perfectly captures the bewildered frustration of the male protagonists: "Why the hell are you here, sensei!?"
