Running parallel to this is the story of Apsara (Nayanthara). Apsara is a single mother separated from her husband. Working as a junior artist in advertisements, she is drowning in financial troubles and struggling to provide for her child. In a moment of desperation, she learns of a challenge: a horror film producer is offering a cash prize of five lakh rupees to anyone who can watch a film alone in a theatre without getting scared. Seeing this as her only way out of debt, Apsara accepts the challenge and begins watching the movie.
