Leo wiped the dust off the salvaged motherboard. The label read Foxconn N15235 . It was ugly, green, and had a capacitor or two leaning at a drunkard’s angle, but it had an LGA1155 socket—perfect for the vintage gaming PC he was building on a ramen budget.

Look at the silkscreen next to the header. If it says "F_PANEL" and has a small diagram, use the 9-pin layout. If it says "FP1" and has a 2x5 grid, use the 10-pin layout.

Reverse the connector polarity. LEDs must be plugged in with the positive ( ) side to the positive pin.

If your board follows this configuration, the Power and Reset switches occupy the same positions, and the Power LED and HDD LED will be on the same pins.

Color-coded case wires use the colored wire (often Red, Green, or Blue) as Positive (+), and the White or Black wire as Negative (-).
