Clothing is a tool for social signaling. It hides what people dislike about their bodies and highlights wealth, status, and fashion sense. In a naturist environment, these artificial indicators disappear. Without clothes, people cannot be judged by their brand choices or social class. Everyone is equalized. The future of purenudism in Brazil appears bright despite—or perhaps because of—the challenges. Mística’s plans include constructing a naturist guest cottage made from eco-friendly materials including glass bottles, bamboo, and clay. She also plans to produce a documentary and a short reality show in which participants will be naked (and confined) in a house for a weekend, exploring naturist living for a broader audience.
