In Indonesia, the number of junior high school students (SMP) using the internet has increased significantly over the years. This shift has led to new forms of social interaction, including online exclusive settings such as online gaming communities, forums, and social media groups. This study aims to explore the phenomenon of adolescent girls' emotional expression in online exclusive settings, specifically in the context of Indonesian junior high school students.
The findings suggest that adolescent girls use online exclusive settings to express their emotions, seek support, and connect with peers who share similar interests. The participants reported feeling comfortable expressing their emotions online, as they felt a sense of anonymity and security.
