A common filtering technique is to block or manipulate traditional UDP-based DNS requests. Luminal OS gets around this by supporting . It tunnels DNS queries through an HTTPS connection, disguising them as normal web traffic. But it goes even further: Luminal OS treats the DoH connection itself as traffic that can be manipulated by its own policy engine. It can apply TLS fragmentation or TTL desynchronization to the very DNS queries that resolve the website's IP address, ensuring that even the lookup phase is invisible to the firewall.
